Disciple of Kanai Sansh˘, he received the name of Kanai Sanpei II.
He worked in the 1st lunar month of 1761 at the Ichimuraza on the new year drama "Edo Murasaki Kongen Soga".
He became nimaime sakusha in the 11th lunar month of 1763 and worked at the Nakamuraza,
along with Kanai Sansh˘, Masuyama Kinpachi I, Nakamura T˘kitsu, Hata Bunsuke, Sei Hidesuke and Kawai Kinji, on the kaomise drama "Daij˘bu Takadachi Jikki",
which celebrated the shűmei of Ichikawa Yaoz˘ II and Ichikawa Komaz˘ II.
He took the name of Ida Sorobŕ in the 11th lunar month of 1765 and worked at the Nakamuraza, along with Nakamura Jűsuke II, Dontsű Yosabŕ I, Masuyama Kinpachi I and Nakamura Sadasuke, on the kaomise drama "Kagura Uta Amagoi Komachi",
which celebrated the shűmei of Iwai Hanshir˘ IV.
He took the name of Kadota Sorobŕ in the 11th lunar month of 1766 and worked at the Nakamuraza, along with Dontsű Yosabŕ I, Nakamura Jűsuke II, Masuyama Kinpachi I, Sei Hidesuke and Kawatake Shinshichi I, on the kaomise drama
"Kogane no Hana Kaijin Arasmusha", which celebrated the arrival in Edo of the Kamigata actor Kirishima Gizaemon I.
He wrote the lyrics of the dance-drama "Musume Nanakusa", which was premiered in the same theater in the 1st lunar month of 1767, staged within the new year drama "Hatsu Akinai ďmise Soga";
the roles of Soga Gor˘ Tokimune, Soga Jűr˘ Sukenari and Shizuka Gozen were played by Ichikawa Benz˘ I, Ichikawa Komaz˘ II and Nakamura Matsue I.
He was active up to summer 1777. No record afterwards.
