Dates of birth and death unknown. He was the elder brother of Tsuzuki Masuzô and became his disciple. He took the name of Sanogawa Ichimatsu in the 11th lunar month of 1763 in Kyôto and he was recorded for the last time in a hyôbanki which was published in Kyôto in the 3rd lunar month of 1764. No record afterwards.

The actor Bandô Aizô held the name of Sanogawa Ichimatsu II from the 11th lunar month of 1767 to the 10th lunar month of 1781.
