Dates of birth and death unknown. He started his career as a wakaonnagata in Kamigata. He was recorded for the first time in the 1692 hyôbanki "Yakusha Ôkagami". He took the name of Mizuki Asanojô in 1698. He took the name of Ichikawa Toyama II in the 1st lunar month of 1704 in Kyôto, where he performed as a kashagata in the new year drama "Kitsunegawa Ima Sesshôseki". He finally became tachiyaku and took the name of Miyagi Shinjirô in the 3rd lunar month of 1705 in Kyôto, where he performed in the new year ni-no-kawari drama "Keisei Inaba no Matsu", which was produced by Sakata Hyôshichirô at Hoteiya Umenojô's theater. Last record in the 2nd lunar month of 1707, when he performed in Kyôto in the new year ni-no-kawari drama "Keisei Ishiyamadera". His rank in the 1707 Kyôto hyôbanki, tachiyaku section was naka (middle class). No record afterwards. |
