Bandô Hikojûrô I

Born in 1842. He started his career as a disciple of Bandô Hikosaburô IV, performing under the name of Bandô Tsuruzô I. He took the name of Bandô Hikojûrô I at an unknown time. This minor actor excelled in jitsuaku roles. He was also a mainstay at the Kishôza during the 1870s. He died in Tôkyô the 4th of July 1893. He was the father of Bandô Hikojûrô II.

Born in 1860. Son of Bandô Hikojûrô I, he started his career as a child-actor in 1865, performing under the name of Bandô Otomaru. He received the names of Bandô Tsuruzô II and Bandô Tsurunosuke II at unknown times. He finally took the name of Bandô Hikojûrô II in October 1915 but held this name only for a few years as he died in 1918. This koshibai actor was the father of Bandô Takesaburô III, Onoe Kikujirô IV and Nakamura Tomijûrô IV.
