Born the 24th of March 1903. Son of Ichikawa Ennosuke I, he made his debut on stage in November 1923 in Ôsaka at the Naniwaza, where he received the name of Ichikawa Shôen I. He took the name of Ichikawa Juen I in October 1930 in Tôkyô at the Kabukiza but did not hold it for a long time as he died too young, the 17th of November 1935. |
