Born in 1863. Disciple of Ichikawa Sadanji I, his first stage name was Ichikawa Enzô I. He took the name of Ichikawa Kudanji II in March 1900 at the Meijiza. He was the adoptive father of Ichikawa Kudanji III. The day of his passing away was not recorded but he most likely died in the second half of the 1910s.

Born in Kyôto the 4th of September 1893. He settled in Tôkyô at the end of his adolescence and started his career on stage as a disciple of Ichikawa Kudanji II in October 1901, in Tôkyô at the Hôraiza, where he received the name of Ichikawa Kutarô. He was adopted by his master and took the name of Ichikawa Enzô II in August 1914 at the Miyatoza. Later, he became a disciple of Ichikawa Sadanji II. He went back to Kansai in 1918 or 1919. He performed in the troupe led by Nakamura Senjaku I and had the chance to perform prestigious roles like Takebe Genzô in "Terakoya" or Nuregami Chôgorô in "Hikimado". He took the name of Ichikawa Kudanji III in February 1928 in Ôsaka at the Nakaza. He appeared on stage for the last time in June 1955, in Nagoya at the Misonoza, where he performed in the dramas "Yoritomo no Shi", "Tôjûrô no Koi" and "Sonezaki Shinjû". He died in Kyôto the 26th of October 1955. This important supporting actor in Kamigata Kabuki was the father of Ichikawa Enzô III, the future movie star Ichikawa Raizô VIII.
