Dates of birth and death unknown. Son of Hanagiri Toyomatsu III,
he was active in Kamigata from 1786 to 1800. He was first recorded as performing
as an iroko in Ôsaka in the 1st lunar month of 1786. He became wakaonnagata at the beginning of the 1790s.
From 1795 to 1800, he was recorded as performing as a tachiyaku
in hama shibai (for example the Kadomaru no Shibai where he was zamoto in 1795 and 1796)
or in miyaji shibai (Inaba Yakushi, Goryô Shrine).
Last record in the 1st lunar month of 1800 in Ôsaka at the Kita no Shinchi Shibai. No record afterwards.
