Dates of birth and death unknown. He was recorded for the first in the 1st lunar month of 1726 in Edo at the Nakamuraza, when he performed as a dôkegata in the new year drama "Kadomatsu Shitennô", which commemorated the 22nd anniversary (23rd memorial service) of the passing away of Ichikawa Danjûrô I. He was active in Edo, mostly at the Nakamuraza, for a few seasons. He was recorded for the last time in Edo at the Nakamuraza, when he played the role of Sasa no Saizô in the kaomise drama "Tono Zukuri Shinoda-zuma". His ranking in the 1736 Edo hyôbanki, dôkegata section, was jô-(shiro)jô (superior - (white) superior) [visual]. No record afterwards.
