Notes

[1] The widow of Nakamura Sôjûrô treated his husband's disciple Nakamura Kasen I like an adoptive son and he was allowed to use Fujii Jûbê as his honmyô and Kasen, the haimyô of Nakamura Sôjûrô, as his stage name.

[2] Nakamura Kasen II's first honmyô was Fujii Kôzô. After the passing away of his father Nakamura Kasen I, he inherited both his stage name Nakamura Kasen and also his honmyô as he became the third holder of the name Fujii Jûbê. The first holder was Nakamura Sôjûrô.
