Bandô Shûka I
 

The actor Bandô Shûka I held this name from the 11th lunar month of 1839 to the 11th lunar month of 1854.

Bandô Shûka II

Born in Kamigata at an unknown date. He was the second son of Nakamura Karoku I and he started his career in 1851, performing under the name of Nakamura Tanetarô I. He received the name of Nakamura Moshio II around 1857. He went to Edo in 1873 and took the name of Nakamura Karoku II in March. A few months later, he was adopted by Bandô Mitsugorô VI, who helped him taking the name of Bandô Shûka II in May 1874. A few years later, he left the Bandô clan and went back to Kamigata. He worked hard as an onnagata actor but his popularity did not really grow. He died in Ôsaka the 5th May 1891 [1].

The actor Morita Kan'ya XIV held the name of Bandô Shûka III from January 1926 to December 1934.

Bandô Shûka IV
 

The actor Ôtani Keizô held the name of Bandô Shûka IV from June 1964 to October 1973.
