The new year sogamono drama "Waka Midori Nishiki Soga" was produced by Nakamura Kanzaburô VII and was staged in the 1st lunar month of 1755 in Edo at the Nakamuraza. It was staged with the following casting:

Nakamura Shichisaburô II and Nakamura Denkurô II also played respectively the roles of the Soga brothers' mother and Kobayashi no Asahina.

Others main actors were Tomizawa Tatsujûrô (Daitônai, in reality Rôikkan), Sawamura Kijûrô I (Umezawa Kogorobei), Matsushima Moheiji (Ôisoya Hyakubei) and Miyazaki Jûshirô II (the brothel owner Denzô).

This new year drama the sekai of "Kokusen'ya Gassen" and "Tenjiku Tokubê" with the Soga Brothers story.

The opening day was the 2nd day of the 1st lunar month of the 5th year of the Hôreki era (1755), which was the 12th of February 1755 in the western calendar.
