History

Katsu Hyôzô I's kaomise drama "Shitennô Yagura no Ishizue" was premiered in the 11th lunar month of 1810 [3] at the Ichimuraza [casting]. Three dance-drama were staged within this kaomise program: the Nagauta-based dance "Yuki Akari", the Tokiwazu-based dance "Aru Toki-ha Koi no Omoni" and the Nagauta-based dance "Yotsu no Tami Tsuzuku Nishikie".

[2] The others sakusha were Sakurada Jisuke II, Shimizu Shôshichi I, Tsuchii Hyôshichi I, Katsuura Shûzô, Narita Yasuke, Kameyama Tamesuke, Tana Sôhachi I and Iozaki Kyûsuke.

[3] The opening day was the 3rd day of the 11th lunar month of the 7th year of the Bunka era, which was the 29th of November 1810 in the western calendar.
