He played the role of Senzaki Yagorô in the classic "Kanadehon Chûshingura", which was staged at the end of the 11th lunar month at the Kado no Shibai (produced by Yoshizawa Iroha I). He was ranked jô-(shiro)jô (superior - (white) superior) in the 1780 Ôsaka hyôbanki. There was also a record of his performances in Ise in 1785. |
