Dates of birth and death unknown. Disciple of Yamamura Tomoemon I, his first stage name was Yamamura Kunizô and he was trained in Kamigata as a katakiyaku. He became a disciple of Bandô Jûtarô and changed his name to Bandô Kunizô in the 11th lunar month of 1799. He took the name of Bandô Kunigorô III during the summer of 1804 and held it for a few years. He had a a quarrel with his master and took the name of Yamamura Tomoemon II [1] during the summer of 1806. He most likely used the name of Yamamura Gizaemon for a while. He finally took back the name of Yamamura Tomoemon II in the 5th lunar month of 1830 [2]. He most likely died during the middle of the Tenpô era.
