Dates of birth and death unknown. Disciple of Tomoeya Kanbê, he performed in Kamigata as a wakaonnagata during the Tenna and Jôkyô eras. He was the master of two outstanding wakaonnagata actors, Ogino Yaegiri I and Ogino Sawanojô.

Dates of birth and death unknown. Son of Tomoeya Kanbê, he started his career in 1706, performing in Ôsaka under the name of Ogino Shôdayû. He became wakaonnagata in Kyôto in 1707. He took the name of Ogino Chôdayû II in the 11th lunar month of 1709 in Kyôto at Kameya Kumenojô's theater, where he played the role of Princess Asaka in the kaomise drama "Takekaburi Mangokumochi", which was produced by Takeshima Kôjûrô. He went to Ôsaka and took back the name of Ogino Shôdayû in the 1st lunar month of 1716, performing in the drama "Ôkazari Monomi Guruma", which was produced by Sawamura Chôjûrô I. No record afterwards.
