Dates of birth and death unknown. Relationship to the Iwai clan unknown. He most likely took the name of Iwai Sagenta II in the 11th lunar month of 1730, performing at the Moritaza as a wakaonnagata in the kaomise drama "Kankatsu Michinoku no Miyako". He was active in Edo for 4 years. His last-recorded performance happened in the 11th lunar month of 1734, in Edo at the Ichimuraza, where he performed in the kaomise drama "Michinoku Yunzei Genji". We don't know what has happened to him afterwards for he disappeared from the records.
