He appeared on stage for the last time in the 11th lunar month of 1709 at the Ichimuraza, when he played the role of Taira no Kiyomori in the kaomise drama "Genpuku Nue Yorimasa". His rank in the 1710 Edo hyôbanki, katakiyaku section, was jô-jô-(hanshiro)kichi (superior - superior - (half-white) excellent) [visual]. He died the 20th day of the 6th lunar month of 1710 ^[1]. He was the father of Yokoyama Rokurôji II.
