Dates of birth and death unknown. Son of Matsumoto Shirosaburô and younger brother of Ichikawa Danzô I, he made his training in miyaji shibai, performing under the name of Ichikawa Hyakumatsu. He became tachiyaku and took the name of Ichikawa Danzaburô I in the 11th lunar month of 1711 at the Moritaza, playing in the kaomise drama "Kôbai no Momoyoguruma", which welcomed in Edo the actors Sakakiyama Sukegorô, Osagawa Tatsuya and Sawamura Jûrôzaemon. He appeared on stage for the last time in the 2nd lunar month of 1713 at the Moritaza, where he played in the drama "Isshin Oyako Zakura".

Year of birth unknown. His first stage name was Ichikawa Kiyosaburô and it was recorded for the first time in Ôsaka in 1849. He became a disciple of Ichikawa Danzô VI and received the name of Ichikawa Danzaburô VII in 1854. He was active in Kamigata up to 1865. He most likely died in 1865.

A minor actor who made an obscure career in Kamigata held the name of Ichikawa Danzaburô VIII between 1867 and 1889.

Born in Edo in 1851. Son of a famous painter, he became the disciple of Ichikawa Ichizô III and received the name of Ichikawa Ichijirô in 1858. He became a disciple of Ichikawa Kuzô III and took the name of Ichikawa Danzaburô IX in January 1880 [1] at the Hisamatsuza. He was active up to his death the 18th of February 1926.
