Date of birth unknown. Disciple of Araki Yojibê I, he performed as a tachiyaku in Kamigata. He settled in Edo in 1659 and performed perform in the 11th lunar month of 1659 at the Edo mansion of the daimyô Matsudaira Yamato-no-Kami [1]. He performed at the Miyakoza in 1662. He performed in the 5th lunar month of 1667 at the Edo mansion of the daimyô Matsudaira Yamato-no-Kami [1]. He performed in the 7th lunar month of 1671 [2] at the Edo mansion of the daimyô Matsudaira Yamato-no-Kami [1]. He performed in the 11th lunar month of 1671 at the Yamamuraza in the drama "Ninin Mizumari". He performed in the 6th lunar month of 1672 [3] at the Edo mansion of the daimyô Matsudaira Yamato-no-Kami [1]. He performed in the same location in the 7th and 11th lunar months of 1673, and also in the 1st lunar month of 1674. He was recorded for the last time in the 8th lunar month of 1679 [4], when he performed at the Edo mansion of the daimyô Matsudaira Yamato-no-Kami [1]. No record afterwards. |

Date of birth unknown. Disciple of Chikamatsu Monzaemon, he quickly switched to acting instead of playwriting. He was recorded for the first time in 1691. He performed in Kyôto as a wakashugata in 1692. He performed in Ôsaka in the 1st lunar month of 1700 as a wakaonnagata, playing the role of Okatsu in Ki-no-Kaion's new year drama "Keisei Mugen no Kane" which was produced by Otowa Jirosaburô I and starred Kataoka Nizaemon I. He performed in Ôsaka in the 1st lunar month of 1701 as a wakashugata, playing the role of Danzaburô in the new year drama "Hyakunichi Soga" which was produced by Kataoka Nizaemon I. He became tachiyaku in Ôsaka in the 11th lunar month of 1702. No record afterwards. |
