Fukumori Kiusuke's kaomise drama "Shitennô Oedo no Kaburaya" was premiered in the 11th lunar month of 1815 [3] at the Nakamuraza. It celebrated the shûmei of Onoe Kikugorô III and Kataoka Gachô and welcomed in Edo the actor Sawamura Tanosuke II. |

[1] The title "The Four Guardians and the Miraculous Arrows of Edo" was based on "The four lieutenants of demon quelling Yorimitsu and the miraculous arrows of Edo", the original English title used by National Theatre. [2] The others sakusha working for Fukumori Kiusuke were Shinoda Kinji I, Hon'ya Sôshichi, Matsuchi Shôkichi, Hanagasa Rosuke, Kasane Sensuke I and 3 others (most likely Oto Usuke I, Namiki Wakichi and Yamato Yahei). [3] The opening day was the 1st day of the 11th lunar month of the 12th year of the Bunka era, which was the 1st of December 1815 in the western calendar. |
