11th lunar month of 1815: Shôkichi worked, under the command of the tatesakusha Fukumori Kiusuke, along with the sakusha Shinoda Kinji I and Hon'ya Sôshichi, on the kaomise drama "Shitennô Oedo no Kaburaya", which was staged at the Nakamuraza to celebrate the shûmei of Onoe Kikugorô III and Kataoka Gachô and welcomed in Edo the actor Sawamura Tanosuke II.

11th lunar month of 1818: Shôkichi worked at the Tamagawaza on Tsuruya Nanboku IV's kaomise drama "Shitennô Ubuyu no Tamagawa".

8th lunar month of 1826: premiere at the Nakamuraza of Tsuruya Nanboku IV's drama "Soga Nakamura Aki no Torikomi"; Shôkichi was a member of the sakusha team [casting].

7th lunar month of 1823: premiere at the Ichimuraza of Tsuruya Nanboku IV's natsu kyôgen "Torimazete Sekison Miyage"; Shôkichi was a member of the sakusha team [casting].

1st lunar month of 1825: premiere at the Nakamuraza of Tsuruya Nanboku IV's new year sogamono drama "Okuni-iri Soga Nakamura"; Shôkichi was a member of the sakusha team.

11th lunar month of 1829: premiere at the Nakamuraza of Tsuruya Nanboku IV's drama "Kin no Zai Sarushima Dairi"; Shôkichi was a member of the sakusha team [more details].

27th day of the 11th lunar month of 1829 [1]: his master Tsuruya Nanboku IV died.

11th lunar month of 1830: Shôkichi worked at the Nakamuraza, along with Katsu Hyôzô II, Nakamura Jûsuke IV and Nanboku Magotarô IV, on the kaomise drama "Oyobanu Ude Tsuna-ga-Kaomise" [2].

3rd lunar month of 1831: Shôkichi worked in the same theater on the drama "Kumoi no Hana Masago no Shiranami". Premiere at the Nakamuraza of the five-role hengemono "Rokkasen Sugata no Irodori" [more details]. No record afterwards.

Comments:

Matsuchi Shôkichi was an important supporting Edo sakusha, who was active from the second half of the 1810s to the beginning of the 1830s.

[1] The 27th day of the 11th lunar month of the 12th year of the Bunsei era was the 22nd of December 1829 in the western calendar.

[2] It included the Tokiwazu/Gidayû-based shosagoto "Yama Mata Yama Shizu-ga-Kusemai", the Tokiwazu-based shosagoto "Yoi Naka no Futari-o Koko-ni Mitsu Ôgi" and the Tokiwazu-based shosagoto "Kumo no Obi Senjô-ga-Taki".
