History

Tsuruya Nanboku IV's natsu kyôgen "Torimazete Sekison Miyage" was premiered in the 7th lunar month of 1823 [2] at the Ichimuraza [casting]. This new year drama mixed several sekai, mixing the main elements from "Igagoe" with elements coming from "Nitô Eiyûki" (Miyamoto Musashi) and from "Ageya". The nibanme part of this drama was entitled "Gozonji Shôchikubai". There were also within this summer program a Tokiwazu-based dance-drama entitled "Arazetai Hina no Sewagoto" and a Gidayû-based michiyuki entitled "Michiyuki Tamuke no Tsuyu Shigure".

[2] The opening day was the 17th day of the 7th lunar month of the 6th year of the Bunsei era, which was the 22nd of August 1823 in the western calendar.
