December 1981: he becomes heyago of the actor Kataoka Nizaemon XIII, who gives him the name of Kataoka Chiyomaru; he plays at the Minamiza the role of the sword-holder Otowaka in the dance-drama "Kanjinchô".

January 1992: he's adopted by Kataoka Hidetarô II and takes the name of Kataoka Ainosuke VI at the Nakaza, playing in "Shuten Dôji" and "Kanjinchô".

December 2008: he becomes the 4th iemoto of the Umemoto school of Kamigata-mai. As a dance master, he takes the name of Umemoto Senshô III.
