ICHIKAWA MONNOSUKE I

The actors Tamazawa Rin'ya and Ichikawa Monnosuke I in a print was made by Torii Kiyomasu I

The actor Ichikawa Monnosuke I playing a wakashugata role in a background made up of three blazons: the upper blazon (3 squares) is Ichikawa Danjûrô II's, the left blazon (a butterfly in a circle) is associated to the onnagata actor Sanjô Kantarô and the right blazon is Monnosuke's (a horizontal stroke-the ideogram for "one"-in a circle)

This print was made by Tori Kiyonobu I (1716 ~ 1720)
