Born in 1666. Brother of Nakamura Gentar˘ and disciple of Nakamura Shichisabur˘ I, He made a short career in Edo, performing as a supporting wakaonnagata actor, from the end of the 1700s to the middle of the 1710s. He never really achieved fame for himself and died the 24th of the 4th lunar month of 1716.

The actor Mimasu Daigor˘ IV held the name of Nakamura Gennosuke I from the 11th lunar month of 1820 to the 10th lunar month of 1822.

The actor Ichikawa K˘jaku IV held the name of Nakamura Gennosuke from 1892 to April 1893. He was never acknowledged as an official holder of the name.
