Sone Shôkichi I

Dates of birth and death unknown. Disciple of Sakurada Jisuke I, he took the pen name of Sone Shôkichi I and started his career in the 11th lunar month of 1777 at the Nakamuraza when he worked on the kaomise drama "Masakado Kanmuri no Hatsuyuki". He became nimaime sakusha in 1808 and worked, along with Katsu Hyôzô I (tatesakusha), Matsui Kôzô I and Shimizu Shôshichi I, in the 11th lunar month of 1808 at the Ichimuraza on the kaomise drama "Irosoyuru Nidai Genji", which welcomed in Edo the Kamigata actor Sawamura Tanosuke II and celebrated the shûmei of Nakamura Rikô II. No record afterwards. He was the master of Sone Shôkichi II and Sone Kyûhei.
