Dates of birth and death unknown. Disciple of Ichikawa Saruzô II, he received the name of Ichikawa Koyone around 1870. He became a disciple of Sawamura Tanosuke III in 1875 and received the name of Sawamura Kikunosuke. He joined Sawamura Kunitarô III in 1881 and received the name of Sawamura Kitô. From 1883 to 1889, he was at the service of Nakamura Jusaburô III, who gave him the name of Nakamura Hisashi. He took back the name of Sawamura Kitô in May 1889 in Tôkyô at the Azumaza. He was active up to 1923. No record afterwards. Was he a victim of the Kantô Earthquake, which destroyed Tôkyô the 1st of September 1923? We don't know. His yagô when he was named Nakamura Hisashi was Wakamatsuya.
