This play, which is a great classic of the Omodakaya guild, is performed in its full length and is "an exciting drama staged in a fashion similar to popular jidaimono (historical Kabuki plays), but unfolding at a fast pace with plenty of eye-catching keren (theatrical tricks)" (From Sasaguchi Rei, in an article written for the Japan Times in July 2002). |

Educational program at the National Theatre called Kabuki Kanshô Kyôshitu ("Kabuki appreciation class"). This is a very interesting formula for the beginners because there is lively presentation on stage of Kabuki or some aspects of the art like music, stage tricks or fighting scenes, followed by the play "Kirare Yosa", which stars Nakamura Tokizô and Nakamura Baigyoku in the prestigious roles of Otomi and Yosaburô. |
