Born in Tôkyô in the district of Akasaka the 20th of November 1932. Fourth son of Nakamura Tokizô III, and brother of Nakamura Tokizô IV, Nakamura Shidô I, Nakamura Kashô II and Nakamura Kazuo. He made his debut on stage (hatsubutai) at the Kabukiza in November 1936, where he received the name of Nakamura Kinnosuke I and performed in the dance "Itsukushima Maneku Hiôgi". He entered the movie world in 1954 and became a great jidaigeki actor, appearing in more than 140 films. He took on his guild name Yorozuya as his surname in 1971 and made his last Kabuki stage appearance in June 1994, at the Kabukiza, where he played the role of Banzui Chôbê in the drama "Kiwametsuki Banzui Chôbê", which celebrated the 32nd anniversary (33rd memorial service) of the passing away of Nakamura Tokizô IV and the hatsubutai of Nakamura Baishi.
