Matsushima Sakuya IV
Matsushima Sakuya IV  In Japanese

Dates of birth and death unknown. He was maybe a disciple of Matsushima Moheiji [1]. Trained in ďsaka as a wakashugata, he settled in Ky˘to and performed in the 11th lunar month of 1729 at Kameya Kumenoj˘'s theater in the kaomise drama "Fukuju Yakata Wag˘ no Futabashira", which was produced by Sakakiyama Shirotar˘ I. His rank in the 1730 Ky˘to hy˘banki, wakashugata section, was j˘-(shiro)j˘ (superior - (white) superior) [visual]. No record afterwards.

[1] We did not find any proof to support this assumption but we know that the so-called master and the so-called disciple performed together in the same theater at the beginning of the career of the so-called disciple.
