The new year sogamono drama "Hatsu Akinai Ômise Soga" was produced by Nakamura Kanzaburô VII and Nakamura Denkurô II and was staged in the 1st lunar month of 1767 in Edo at the Nakamuraza. It was the last stage appearance of the actor Ichikawa Raizô I, who played the roles of Yamada Saburô and Honmachi no Tsunagorô. He fell ill and had to be replaced by Ichikawa Komazô II. It was also the premiere of the dance-drama "Musume Nanakusa". "Hatsu Akinai Ômise Soga" was staged with the following casting:

Ichikawa Komazô II also played the roles of Soga Jûrô Sukenari and Yodoya Tatsugorô. Matsumoto Kôshirô III also played the role of the priest Seigen. Ôtani Hiroemon III also played the role of Hantoki Kurobê. Sawamura Kijûrô I also played the role of Eda Genzô. Iwai Hanshirô IV also played the role of Princess Sakura. Kirishima Gizaemon I also played the role of Shinobu no Sôta.

Others actors were Nakamura Denkichi (Matsui Gengo), Matsumoto Hidejûrô I (Yoshida Shoshô, Nitta no Shirô), Ichikawa Datezô I (the mother of the Soga brothers), Miyazaki Jûshirô II (Tegoshi no Shôshô) and Ichikawa Dangorô III (Yodoya Koan).
