Career:

Before 1790: disciple of Namiki Gohei I, he received the name of Namiki Miyosuke.

11th lunar month of 1790: Miyosuke worked at the Kado no Shibai, along with his master Namiki Gohei I [1], on the kaomise drama "Ittai Bunshin Nishiki no Okuyama", which was produced by Asao Yatarô and celebrated the return in Ôsaka (from a tour to Edo) of the star Asao Tamejûrô I.

11th lunar month of 1797: Miyosuke worked at the Minamigawa no Shibai in Kyôto, along with Namiki Jûsuke II [2], on the kaomise drama "Nanboku Yuki no Miyako", which celebrated the shûmei of Arashi Raishi I [3] and Arashi Sangorô III.

11th lunar month of 1806: Miyosuke worked in Kyôto at the Kitagawa no Shibai, along with Tatsuoka Mansaku [4], on the kaomise drama "Akiba Gongen Kaisen Banashi".

1st lunar month of 1810: premiere at the Kado no Shibai of Chikamatsu Tokuzô and Miyosuke ni-no-kawari drama "Keisei Sato no Funauta" [casting].

11th lunar month of 1812: Miyosuke worked at the Naka no Shibai, along with Nagawa Issen I, on the kaomise drama "Hirugaesu Nishiki no Tamoto", which welcomed in Ôsaka the Edo star Bandô Hikosaburô III.

8th lunar month of 1814: Miyosuke worked in Ôsaka at the Kado no Shibai on the drama "Kamikakete Chikai no Tsumagushi", which was produced by Ichikawa Zentarô. No record afterwards. He was said to be active up to 1821 but no more record in hyôbanki between 1815 and 1821.

Comments:

Namiki Miyosuke was a Kamigata sakusha, who was active from the beginning of the 1790s to the first half of the 1810s.

[1] The others sakusha were Namiki Senryû II, Namiki Ryûsuke II, Namiki Hanzô, Namiki Chôzô and Namiki Isaburô.

[2] The others sakusha were Arashi Sangyô, Arashi Tokuhei, Morita Ushichi and Morita Manji.

[3] Arashi Raishi I also did his isse ichidai performance.

[4] Others sakusha were Namiki Jûsuke II, Ichioka Washichi I, Nagawa Ujûrô and Ichioka Rihei.
