Lots of classics belonging to the Omodakaya guild. Ichikawa Ennosuke plays three roles in the spectacular "Kuragari Nagaya Ume-ga-Kagatobi": a wicked masseur, a brave fireman and the spirit of the man murdered by the masseur! "Kurumabiki" stars Ichikawa Danzô (Fujiwara no Shihei), Ichikawa Danshirô (Matsuômaru), Ichikawa Kamejirô (Sakuramaru) and Ichikawa En'ya (Umeômaru). |

Ichikawa Danjûrô plays the roles of Nuregami Chôgorô ("Sumôba"), Tarôkaja ("Suô Otoshi") and Yoshidaya Kizaemon ("Kuruwa Bunshô"). Nakamura Ganjirô plays two of his best roles: the courtesan Ohatsu ("Sonezaki Shinjû") and the handsome young lover Fujiya Izaemon ("Yoshidaya"). The good surprise of this program is the Shinnosuke-Shibajaku duo performing in Kawatake Mokuami's "Yuki no Yûbe Iriya no Azemichi". Shibajaku plays the role of the courtesan Michitose and Shinnosuke is her lover Naojirô. |
