    Lots of classics belonging to the Omodakaya guild. Ichikawa Ennosuke plays three roles in the spectacular "Kuragari Nagaya Ume-ga-Kagatobi": a wicked masseur, a brave fireman and the spirit of the man murdered by the masseur!

    "Kurumabiki" stars Ichikawa Danzô (Fujiwara no Shihei), Ichikawa Danshirô (Matsuômaru), Ichikawa Kamejirô (Sakuramaru) and Ichikawa En'ya (Umeômaru).

    Ichikawa Danjûrô plays the roles of Nuregami Chôgorô ("Sumôba"), Tarôkaja ("Suô Otoshi") and Yoshidaya Kizaemon ("Kuruwa Bunshô").

    Nakamura Ganjirô plays two of his best roles: the courtesan Ohatsu ("Sonezaki Shinjû") and the handsome young lover Fujiya Izaemon ("Yoshidaya").

    The good surprise of this program is the Shinnosuke-Shibajaku duo performing in Kawatake Mokuami's "Yuki no Yûbe Iriya no Azemichi". Shibajaku plays the role of the courtesan Michitose and Shinnosuke is her lover Naojirô.
