    The first show is dedicated to 2 masterpieces of Kabuki: Chikamatsu Monzaemon's "Kezori" and Kawatake Mokuami's "Sannin Kichisa". The former is about a colorful smuggler and the latter about the adventures of three thieves whose common features are the same first name (Kichisa) and a strong sense of honour.     The evening show includes a typical Kamigata play, "Katsuragawa Renri no Shigarami" (Obiya), and the great classic "Kumagai Jin'ya" starring the popular actor Nakamura Kichiemon in the role of the warrior Kumagai Naozane. The 3 dances that ends the program are played by children actors: Nakamura Tokizô's sons (Baishi, Mantarô), Nakamura Kashô's son (Tanetarô) and Ichimura Manjirô's son (Takematsu).

    Kataoka Nizaemon celebrates his shûmei at the Hakataza by playing the roles of Matsuômaru, Mashiba Hisayoshi and Kameya Chûbê in the plays "Terakoya", "Sanmon" and "Fûin Giri".
