EDO KAOMISE 1723

The kaomise drama "Sono Enpô Onna Migyôsho" was produced by Nakamura Kanzaburô VI at the Nakamuraza in Edo in the 11th lunar month of 1723^[1]. It celebrated the arrival at the Nakamuraza of the Kamigata actors Yamashita Kinsaku I and Sanogawa Senzô. It was staged with the following casting:

The question is still open: was Katase both Nikaidô's musume and Aoto's nyôbô?
