Uzaemon has to supervise the rebuilding of the theater. 5th lunar month of 1762: Uzaemon dies in Edo. His tombstone is located in the precinct of the Daiunji temple. Comments: Ichimura Uzaemon VIII started his career as wakashugata, moved to wakaonnagata roles then became a talented tachiyaku. His 2 fields of excellence were jitsugotoshi and katakiyaku roles. He spent 55 years acting on stage but it is worth noting that he was also for 60 years the successful zamoto of the Ichimuraza.
